- A modest aircraft encountered an accident – passengers endured minor injuries.
Following the crash of a compact plane close to Rüdesheim along the Rhine, two men endured mild injuries. "It's astonishing that the passengers didn't sustain more severe injuries," expressed district fire chief Michael Ehresmann. The Cessna struck trees within the woods shortly post a maneuver behind the glider airfield, based on reports.
The aircraft collided with numerous trees and sustained significant damage, with portions of its wings detached. The two men, estimated to be between forty and sixty years old, had already exited the small plane before the emergency services arrived. The fire department successfully prevented fuel from leaking from the aircraft and afire didn't spark up.
Predliminary analysis suggests it was a training exercise, Ehresmann disclosed. The aircraft had taken off from Mainz-Finthen. As per the district fire chief, an error in navigation seemingly occurred over the airfield prior to the crash. Approximately eighty emergency personnel were present. Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
The impact of the aircraft crash resulted in the plane hitting several trees and suffering extensive damage. Despite the close proximity and force of the collision, the two men managed to exit the plane before it became engulfed in flames.
