A man sentenced to fine after brawl with fatal outcome in front of a Mainz tavern

The two men met in a tavern in Mainz in November 2021. According to the prosecution, the later deceased accused the defendant's girlfriend of wrongdoing, which led to an argument. In the course of events, the 23-year-old allegedly hit his heavily intoxicated counterpart in the face with his fist, causing him to fall to the ground and sustain severe head injuries. He is said to have died from these injuries.

The argument between the two men in Mainz's tavern ended with the defendant's girlfriend's accused wrongdoing. Despite the seriousness of the situation, the defendant claimed it was just a fine argument that escalated. Regrettably, one of the men was involved in a brawl and due to the punch he received, he suffered significant body harm. Following the incident, the tavern became a hotspot for police investigation.
