From the current affected - A man is missing after swimming in the Baltic Sea

A man was caught in a current in the Baltic Sea at Markgrafenheide beach in Rostock and has been missing since then. According to the police, he and a friend were swimming there on a Sunday evening. They were both swept away by an incoming current. One of them managed to make it back to the shore, but the other was carried away.

The police and volunteers searched for several hours on land and in the water for the man. When it was completely dark, the search was temporarily suspended.

The missing man was believed to be in the same stream as the Baltic Sea, where the rescue operation was taking place. Due to the emergency situation, additional resources from the local police in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern were called to assist. Despite the challenging conditions, the search resumed the next day, involving several men from the community.
