Mainz: The Team Criticized for Poor Form - A man is accused of assaulting AfD bill distributors.
In Mainz, while putting up an AfD party campaign poster yesterday, two party members encountered a man. They had intended to fasten the poster to a street lamp with a cable tie. The man, aged 33, walked over and supposedly yanked down the poster and its attached cable tie, resulting in property damage. He also hurled insults at the party and its members, calling them fascists and referring to the party as a fascist party. While the men on the ladder did not exhibit any angry reactions initially, conflict escalated later when the 33-year-old is believed to have tried to seize the tower. A 36-year-old poster hanger allegedly responded by pushing the ladder towards his assailant, who then complained of being hurt.
The police in Mainz are looking into this incident and pursuing charges against the 33-year-old for allegedly insulting the party and its members, attempting to inflict bodily harm, and causing property damage. The 36-year-old is currently being investigated for potential charges of dangerous bodily harm.
