Reutlingen police are investigating reports of domestic violence involving a man who attacked his partner in their home, while two of their children were present.

Reutlingen brings news update. - A man forces his way into his former partner's home armed with a hatchet.

A guy managed to infiltrate his ex-wife's apartment in Dettingen an der Erms (part of the Reutlingen district) during the night on a Monday. He used an axe to break down the terrace door. The 41-year-old male allegedly assaulted the woman, as reported by the authorities. There's confusion regarding whether he used the axe during the physical altercation.

The 38-year-old lady sustained minor injuries. EMTs were able to handle the situation without transporting her to the hospital. The male, however, suffered severe injuries from shattered glass and required surgery at the hospital. Unharmed were the new partner of the female and their two children, a 7 and 17-year-old, it was disclosed.

Information about the suspect's consumption of alcohol prior to the crime was initially unclear. When he was taken into custody, he didn't attempt to resist, it was mentioned. The Investigations Department of Reutlingen is now inspecting this case under the assumption of a bodily harm offense and a violation of peace for the 41-year-old.
