- A man drowns in the lake
A young man drowned while swimming in the Schweinfurter Baggersee in Lower Franconia. The 26-year-old man had been spending the day at the lake with his family on Sunday when he went into the water alone, according to police. After some time, he did not return and could not be found. Emergency services, including firefighters, police, and paramedics, searched for the missing person using boats, drones, and dogs in the evening. The next day, the 26-year-old was found and retrieved from the water around afternoon. The criminal police took over the investigation to determine the exact cause of death.
The police assisted in the search for the missing swimmer at the Schweinfurter Baggersee. Following the discovery of the man, the investigation into his death was handed over to the criminal police.
