A four-day work stoppage has been declared at Lufthansa's branch, Discover.

It wasn't immediately evident how the air traffic would be affected by the union strike announcement from Cockpit and UFO. As Joachim Vazquez Bürger, head of UFO, put it, "Regrettably, there will be some disruptions to Discover Airlines' flights in this scenario." He continued, "We genuinely apologize for this predicament and only resort to strike action as an absolute last measure." Passengers were urged to check for potential flight cancellations or delays.

In the middle of the week, both Cockpit (VC) and UFO union members expressed strong support for a strike. This came after Verdi announced a wage agreement with Discover two weeks prior. However, the specialist unions voiced concerns, arguing that Verdi only represents a tiny portion of Discover's around 1900 employees in the cockpit and cabin.

Established in 2021, Discover Airlines serves as the leisure division of Lufthansa. Based in Frankfurt am Main, it operates a fleet of 27 airplanes.

The union strike announcement from Cockpit and UFO could potentially lead to disruptions to Discover Airlines' flights, as mentioned by Joachim Vazquez Buering. Consequently, passengers should closely monitor their flights for any cancellations or delays due to this industrial action.
