Inundation - A flash fire is visible when a pipeline empties.
Due to certain circumstances, a section of the pipeline was exposed by as much as seven meters. Despite no apparent damage to the pipeline, it still needs to be inspected and emptied out. The operator intends to burn off the ethylene, a gas-like substance, to achieve this. The resulting flame can reach as high as ten meters, they claim.
As per the Alfdorf municipality's statement, the L1155 road, stretching between Alfdorf-Pfahlbronn and Alfdorf-Haghof, has been completely shut down due to the ongoing work. This disruption is estimated to continue until the weekend.
