A she-wolf found herself trapped between Schönheide and Lieskau, a town under the administration of Spremberg in the Spree-Neiße district. Concerned residents reported the incident to the police.

The Spree-Neiße district authorities addressed the query on a Thursday, confirming that the wolf had only suffered minor wounds - surface strangled marks on her right hind leg during the examination by the vet team. The team cared for the approximately one-year-old she-wolf in a safe haven, concealed in undergrowth.

To ensure the she-wolf's safety during the rescue process, the police shut down the road. The district further urged curious onlookers to stay away from the animal to avoid any needless disturbances. The region of Brandenburg is known for its large wolf population, making it the top wolf region in Germany. However, handling wolves, especially due to their rise in livestock attacks, has sparked debates for many years, with most wolves losing their lives on the roads.
