The unemployment count in Baden-Württemberg dipped slightly. In May, it was 262,466, which is 2,301 or 0.9% less compared to the previous month. According to the Regional Directorate of the Federal Employment Agency, the unemployment rate also dipped by 0.1% to 4.1%. This news came out in Stuttgart on a Tuesday.
Normally, May sees a marked decline in unemployment. However, the moderate pattern is due to a weak economy. The unemployment rate surpassed the figure from the previous year considerably. In May 2023, the unemployment rate was 3.7%, with approximately 236,900 people jobless in the southwest. The Federal Employment Agency compiled the statistics using data available up until May 15.
