A compact, stationary aircraft spirals through the atmosphere.

Strong winds with speeds reaching 85 kilometers per hour are predicted for the North Sea. There's a possibility that one of these gusts could topple an idle aircraft.

- A compact, stationary aircraft spirals through the atmosphere.

A powerful breeze blew across Leer-Papenburg airport in East Frisia, causing an ultralight plane that was stationed there to lift and spin around. According to fire department reports, this strong wind dislodged the aircraft from its anchors on Saturday night. It ultimately crashed onto its top near the runway. To eliminate any possibility of a fire, the fire department smothered the aircraft in foam, as its fuel tank had been harmed and fuel was escaping.

The German Meteorological Service predicted wind gusts of up to 85 km/h for Saturday night along the North Sea coast.

The German Meteorological Service's prediction of strong winds proved to be accurate, as a Hurricane-like force blew across the area on Saturday night. Despite being anchored, the ultralight plane could not withstand the Hurricane-strength winds and crashed onto its top near the runway.
