Aviation transport receives scrutiny. - A compact aircraft touches down in the North Sea.
An uncommon incident took place in the North Sea on Sunday: a tiny plane facing engine failure was forced to land in the water near Büsum. Thankfully, the pilot came out unscathed, reported a police representative. A team from a local fishing boat managed to rescue the man, added a spokesperson for Germany's Maritime Search and Rescue Service.
The boat's crew then towed the double-decker to safety, bringing it to Büsum. The rescue vessel "Theodor Storm" arrived at the scene of the accident soon afterwards, but the fishermen got there first, according to the spokesperson for the sea rescue team. It's suspected that the pilot deliberately chose the spot for his emergency landing to be close to the DGzRS cutter.
