An elderly man aged 97 perished in Viersen last Friday due to a house fire. The local fire department was alerted once the blaze had already consumed the entire bungalow, as per the police report. Tragically, their assistance was insufficient for saving the man, who succumbed to his injuries immediately on site. Investigations into the origin of the fire are currently being handled by the criminal police.
