Southern Germany Region - Swabia - A 69-year-old individual lost over 100,000 euros due to investment fraud.
A 69-year-old woman reportedly fell victim to scammers in 2023 after responding to an online ad for investment opportunities. She supposedly shared her personal details on a website, and soon after, a "financial agent" reached out to her over the phone, promising lucrative and speedy returns if she invested in cryptocurrency.
The fraudsters seemingly answered all of the woman's questions appropriately and kept in touch regularly. To prevent similar incidents, authorities warned against signing contracts for financial investments over the phone or online, and urged people not to be pressured by advisors. If in doubt, they advised victims to contact the police.

The police in Bavaria are currently investigating the case of investment fraud that led to a 69-year-old woman losing over 100,000 euros. Despite the cryptocurrency being involved, it's crucial for individuals to be cautious when investing and not to share personal details over the phone or online, as advised by authorities in the region.
