- A 56-year-old individual meets with fatal consequences following an incident in the heart of Hesse.
In a car crash happening in Central Hesse's region, a 56-year-old gentleman sadly passed away. Following the crash of two vehicles on the federal highway 277 between Edingen and Sinn (Lahn-Dill district), the driver was at first transported to a hospital via a rescue helicopter. Regrettably, he didn't make it past his injuries, as reported by Central Hesse's authorities.
The specific cause of this incident was initially uncertain. As per preliminary investigations, a 57-year-old woman lost control of her vehicle at the end of a long right turn and veered into the opposite lane. That's when the two cars collided, causing the man's vehicle to roll over and eventually land on its roof, as indicated.
The driver of the third vehicle was unfortunately included in the crash and was taken to a hospital with severe injuries. Fortunately, the driver of the third vehicle escaped unscathed, as per the police.
"The public prosecutor's office appointed an expert in car accident reconstructions to recreate the sequence of events," it was stated. The federal highway had to be shut down temporarily in the midday hours. The authorities estimated the overall damage to the three vehicles at 15,000 euros.
The police arrived at the scene to investigate the cause of the crash. The 57-year-old woman responsible for the accident was questioned by the police.
