In the Bautzen district, a 54-year-old individual confronted law enforcement officials at his residence in Radeberg on a Monday evening. They were there to examine his ankle bracelet due to suspicions of tampering. The man, reportedly, seized two kitchen knives and brandished them at the officers. In self-defense, the officers discharged their weapons, striking the man in his thigh. He was subsequently transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

This 54-year-old is no stranger to law enforcement and currently serves a probation sentence. The checks were conducted following signals that his ankle monitor might have been interfered with, according to the police. Subsequent investigations are now underway to gather more information.
