On a heated argument with another lady on a local train in Upper Bavaria, a 52-year-old lady got physical and choked her adversary with her handbag's strap. A man who intervened to calm things down also ended up with minor injuries, as per the federal police statement. It's suspected that the argument stemmed from a disagreement concerning children or a stroller belonging to the 26-year-old.
The initial argument between the two women escalated as they exchanged blows, including some to the face. The 52-year-old then resorted to choking her foe with the strap of her handbag. When a 38-year-old man attempted to step in and mediate the situation, he was allegedly bitten by the younger woman. Both women are currently under investigation for causing physical harm.
The Commission, following the incident, might need to consider amending the rules for such situations in public transport to ensure safer environments. Subsequently, the implementing acts adopted by the Commission could include stricter penalties for physical assaults in such settings.
