Protests in Grevesmühlen - A 46-year-old individual assaults his parents using a firearm and a cutting tool.

In Grevesmühlen (Nordwestmecklenburg), an older couple had a narrow escape from what appeared to be a murder attempt by their own son late in the week. On Thursday, the prosecutor's office in Schwerin revealed that the 46-year-old man had illegally gained access to his parents' house at around midnight. They allege that he then forcefully entered his mother's room, where she was in bed. He is believed to have shot her in the back of the head with a stun gun and subsequently shot his father in the face while stabbing him with a knife in another room. Fortunately, the 65 and 69-year-old couple were able to get help from a neighbour and call the police. Both were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Although their lives are not in immediate danger, they are still recovering.

The prosecutor's office press officer also shared that the son was tracked down and apprehended by police special forces at his apartment in the early hours of Thursday. After his arrest, investigations have been launched against him based on suspicion of two attempted murder charges. His court date has been set for Friday. At this point, it seems like a monetary dispute could have been the driving factor behind the crime. The parents had decided to cut off their son's financial support. Additional details about his living situation were not initially disclosed. Radio station Ostseewelle was among the first to report on this vicious act.
