A 43-year-old man is now on probation after a trial for being a member of IS.
A 43-year-old woman was found to have escaped along with her husband and their two and three-year-old daughters to regions under ISIS control in war-torn Syria. She assumed the role allocated to her by ISIS, as a homemaker and mother. Besides that, she took care of newborns, widows, pregnant women, and other females in that area.
The woman's husband, as well as her 63-year-old son, will be facing trial independently, as the court has mentioned. In 2014, the elderly woman purchased a car for her son's request, bringing it all the way to the Turkish-Syrian border. She also transferred him various amounts of money between 460 to 7,500 euros several times, thereby enabling her son to live as an ISIS combatant.
The basis for the woman's suspended sentence was a mutual understanding between all parties involved in the proceedings in exchange for a detailed account of the events. The woman's sentence has yet to become legally effective. However, the sentence against her 63-year-old mother-in-law, which is legally binding, has been imposed, and no one has filed an appeal.
