A 27-year-old man is accused of stabbing a 40-year-old man in Salzgitter near his residence. The suspect was arrested near the residence on Saturday and was under the influence of tranquilizers, according to the police statement on Sunday.

According to investigators, both men had previously gotten into an argument for unknown reasons. The 27-year-old man allegedly stabbed the 40-year-old man in the stomach with a knife in the hallway outside his residence and then fled. Emergency services transported the victim to a hospital.

The incident occurred in the city of Salzgitter, which is located in the German state of Lower Saxony. The police in Lower Saxony are currently investigating the criminality surrounding the "Messerangriff" or "stabbing attack". Despite being under the influence of tranquilizers, the suspect will face charges for his actions.
