Actions or functions - A 38-year-old individual has been found guilty of murder in Landsberg.
A 38-year-old man was found guilty and sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison for murder by the Halle District Court. The court established that the man had carried out a surprise attack, killing his ex-girlfriend's current partner. The court's spokesperson confirmed the news to the German Press Agency upon request. The verdict had already been delivered on May 23, as reported earlier by the "Mitteldeutsche Zeitung."
Initially, the man denied the charges brought against him. His defense argued that no murder weapon or evidence of the crime was discovered.
However, the prosecution believed the man targeted his ex-wife's new partner due to frustration over custody and child support disagreements. They claimed that on October 31, 2023, he spotted the 49-year-old victim while they were walking their dogs on a country road in Sietzsch's Landsberg district. The alleged confrontation led to the man hitting the victim three times on the head with an unknown object, not showing any concern for the victim's life. Reports state that the victim instantly passed away from a severe skull-brain injury.
