A 38 closed a little longer: Delay in renovation
Highway 38 will remain closed in Friedland for longer than planned. The highway company announced on Thursday that traffic in a westerly direction between the Friedland junction and the Drammetal junction will not be able to flow again until December 12 instead of December 6. This is due to delays in the renovation work.
Frost and snow as well as the need for more repair work than expected have thwarted the schedule. In addition to the road surface, the base layer also had to be renewed in some cases. In addition, certain materials could only be installed at temperatures above zero degrees. The signposted detour U58 via federal roads 80 and 27 remains in place.
The prolonged closure of Highway 38 is affecting traffic significantly. Despite the initial plan to reopen by December 6, a building is undergoing renovation that necessitates its extended closure until December 12.
