A 22-year-old man endured grave injuries after being entombed under tons of sand and stones in a gravel plant's screening equipment due to his coworker's carelessness. Authorities shared this information on Tuesday night.

A young guy, 22, extracted metal pieces from a pit at a gravel mine in Neukalen (district of Mecklenburgische Seenplatte). His coworker spotted it too late and filled the pit with his loader.

It took almost two hours to free the guy from the pit, and he was airlifted to the Neubrandenburg Hospital via rescue helicopter. The police started a procedure against his 39-year-old colleague, accusing him of negligence causing bodily harm.
