Procedures are carried out. - A 21-year-old individual has been admitted to a psychiatric institution following a double murder incident.

Based on what the Hanover Regional Court decided, a 21-year-old male will need to be put in a psychiatric facility for the rest of his life. This decision stems from the fact that the young man is considered not guilty due to his paranoid schizophrenia, as stated by a court representative on a Wednesday. Both the defense, prosecution, and the attorneys representing relatives of the two men killed have backed this decision of sending him to a psychiatric hospital.

On a November day, the 21-year-old man took a kitchen knife and assaulted a 45-year-old man in a gaming hall found in Hannover's North District. The victim eventually bled to death and passed away at the scene of the crime. He attempted to help the man, but the 21-year-old also inflicted multiple stab wounds on a 49-year-old man. Within a short span of time, another attack occurred only a few hundred meters away from the first crime scene. This time, a 45-year-old man was ambushed in front of a hotel, and the 21-year-old attacked him causing several stab wounds. The injured man was later taken to the hospital and lost his life.

According to the court's announcement after the verdict on Wednesday, cannabis addiction also played a part in the crimes per an expert opinion. This decision has yet to become legally binding.
