Probing into the matter - A 21-year-old individual discovered lifeless in a forest near Niebüll.

Near the forest in northwestern Schleswig-Holstein's Niebuell, a 21-year-old woman's body was uncovered. The authorities suspect a homicide has occurred. A Flensburg police representative shared this information upon request on Sunday, revealing that the body was found overnight from Saturday to Sunday. The Flensburg police's murder squad and the public prosecutor's office have assumed responsibility for the case, as stated in a joint statement on Sunday evening.

The woman was a resident of a care facility, and on Friday morning around 8:00 am, she ventured into Marschenpark west of Niebuell to work out. When she failed to check in as planned with her family, she was reported missing by afternoon. Following an extensive search that continued until sunset, investigators ultimately discovered her body.

The investigation is still in the initial stages. Anyone who might have seen anything out of the ordinary should contact the police. No potential suspect was identified initially.

Earlier, the "Bild" newspaper disclosed that a pedestrian, whose dog they were walking in the woods late at night, stumbled upon the lifeless body near a path and alerted the police.
