Leipzig District Court - A 20-year-old man admits to killing someone in a collapsed warehouse.
Nearly a year has passed since the brutal murder of a 25-year-old man in Leipzig. Now, a 20-year-old has come forward and given a detailed account of the incident. According to his lawyer, the defendant led the victim to an abandoned grain silo in Leipzig and took his life. The charges against him include premeditated murder for financial gain combined with a serious robbery.
Back when the crime occurred, the defendant was 19 and needed 6,000 euros from a friend to buy a scooter, as mentioned in the indictment. He believed he had been tricked by the older man and wanted to even the score, teach him a lesson. Since the victim was attracted to him, he enticed him into the silo under the guise of a sexual encounter. After tying his hands behind his back and pouring hot wax on his bare skin, the defendant stuffed a sock in his mouth when the victim began to scream for help.
He then broke the victim's leg and left him in a barrel filled with water. The defendant took the victim's phone and bank card, claiming he'd return the next day for further discussion. Several days later, he returned to the silo, finding the 25-year-old already deceased.
After four weeks, the decaying body was discovered. During his initial testimony as a witness, the defendant named someone else as the culprit of the crime. He later admitted to this fabrication. Now, the Leipzig Regional Court has planned 13 trial days scheduled for October.
