Lahn-Dill region's news: - A 15-year-old suffered severe injuries in a kitchen blaze.

A 15-year-old girl sustained serious injuries in a fire that broke out in a kitchen in the middle of Hessian Oberbiel (Lahn-Dill-District). Police reported on Monday that the girl allegedly heated a pot with fat. When she attempted to remove it from the stove, the fat is believed to have splattered, starting the fire. The girl was severely burnt by the scorching fat and had to be rushed to a specialist hospital. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire, but the damage to the home rendered it uninhabitable. Police estimated the cost of the damage caused by the Sunday incident to be approximately 120,000 euros.
