A 13-year-old lad took his parents' vehicle for a spin on Tuesday afternoon in Harsewinkel, resulting in €26,000 worth of damage. This unwarranted joyride led to minor injuries for both the youngster and a 65-year-old bus driver, as reported by the police of Gütersloh on Wednesday. The motive behind this spontaneous driving decision is still being investigated.

The mother had temporarily abandoned the car while she went shopping. Seizing the opportunity, the adolescent climbed into the driver's seat and drove the car off the parking lot. In the process, he collided with a bus. Despite the bus driver's swift evasive maneuver and heavy braking, the collision was unavoidable.

Subsequently, the 13-year-old boy drove the car into a roadside sign before coming to a halt. Tragically, the vehicle needed to be towed away. Various news outlets had earlier relayed information about this occurrence.

The 13-year-old had taken his parents' car for a drive, using it as his means of transportation. Due to his lack of experience, he failed to maintain control, leading to a collision with a bus.
