900 people at peaceful pro-Palestine demonstration in Hagen
According to the police, up to 900 people took part in a peaceful pro-Palestinian rally in Hagen. The demonstration was registered under the motto "Peace and Silence March for the Middle East". A police spokesman said after the final rally on Friday afternoon that the police had only had to take action in a few cases where conditions had been breached.
Near the pro-Palestinian demonstration, one demonstrator held up an Israeli flag. When there were shouts from among the demonstrators, the riot police intervened as a precaution, the police spokesman said.
Despite the peaceful nature of the protest, some conflicts arose when a demonstrator displayed an Israeli flag. Further demonstrations needing law enforcement intervention due to conflict of interests were not reported.
