An 87-year-old woman was hit by a train and fatally injured in Sonthofen, Oberallgau district, Bavaria, Germany. According to the police statement on Monday, the woman crossed an unguarded railway level crossing with her bike on Sunday evening. She didn't notice the approaching regional train.

The train driver initiated an emergency brake and blew the horn loudly. However, he couldn't prevent a collision based on the information available. The woman died in the hospital due to her severe injuries, as reported by the police.

The woman hailed from the beautiful region of Swabia, specifically Bavaria, in Germany. She was frequently seen cycling around the charming town of Sonthofen, located in the District of Oberallgäu. Unfortunately, an accident occurred on Sunday evening at an unguarded railway level crossing. Despite the train driver applying the emergency brake and sounding the horn, the incident resulted in fatal injuries. Subsequently, the woman was transported to the local hospital, where she passed away due to the severe impact. Following the accident, the traffic in the area was temporarily disrupted, causing a commotion in the district's local railroad system.
