Regional court - 85-year-old father almost beaten to death: trial begins

From today (8.30 a.m.), a man will stand trial at Frankfurt Regional Court for allegedly almost killing his 85-year-old father with a baseball bat. According to the indictment, there was a serious argument between the 38-year-old German defendant and his parents in April of this year after the son had entered his father's home against his will. According to the indictment, he then hit the father 15 times on the head, leaving him with permanent brain damage.

The jury chamber, which will also be dealing with the defendant's mental state, has initially scheduled six trial days until the end of January.
