Altmarkkreis Salzwedel - 85-year-old driver involved in fatal accident
An 85-year-old driver has been fatally injured in a collision between two cars south of Salzwedel (Altmarkkreis Salzwedel). Rescue workers tried to resuscitate the man after the accident on Wednesday afternoon, but he succumbed to his injuries on the scene, police said on Thursday. The driver of the other car, a 27-year-old woman, was seriously injured. She was taken to hospital. According to initial findings, the driver overtook several vehicles without paying attention to the oncoming car of the 27-year-old.
