Statistics - 85 percent of people in Rhineland-Palatinate shop online

85% of the Rhineland-Palatinate population have used the internet for online shopping at least once in their lives. In the survey for the 2023 microcensus on the use of information and communication technologies, 71% of respondents stated that they had recently used the internet to store within the last three months, as the State Statistical Office in Bad Ems reported on Wednesday.

According to the statistics, there were no differences between the sexes. The age of the respondents was quite different: 76 percent of participants aged between 16 and 44 had shopped online in the three months prior to the survey. Among respondents aged 45 to 74, the figure was 67 percent.
