- 84-year-old man seriously injured in bicycle crash
An 84-year-old cyclist fell into a drainage ditch, suffered severe head injuries, and was taken to a hospital for treatment. According to police reports, the man was riding his bike Wednesday evening in Kirchberg (Zwickau district) on a path parallel to the S 282 road towards Hirschfeld. At a steep point, he fell into the drainage ditch.
The 84-year-old was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, police said.
The police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident to gather information. Officers are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the elderly cyclist falling into the drainage ditch.
