82-year-old suffers emergency at the wheel and dies
An 82-year-old driver suffered a medical emergency at the wheel of his vehicle in Langen (Emsland district) and died. Shortly after leaving a parking lot in his car, the man lost consciousness, police said on Friday. His vehicle then rolled onto a property and hit a parked car. According to reports, the senior citizen died at the scene of the accident despite resuscitation efforts by the emergency services. His 82-year-old passenger was uninjured in the incident on Friday.
The incident highlighted the need for more awareness about medical emergencies while driving, as traffic accidents due to such situations can have severe consequences. Unfortunately, the presence of traffic and limited time often impedes the timely response of medical emergencies on the road.
