Traffic - 80-year-old dies after accident in Elbe-Elster district
An 80-year-old man crashed his car into a tree on Monday evening and died at the scene of the accident in Doberlug-Kirchhain (Elbe-Elster district). A police spokesperson said on Tuesday that the man had left the road in his car for reasons that are as yet unclear. The car 's e-call system - an automatic emergency call system - alerted the emergency services. The man got out of his vehicle himself. However, he died at the scene of the accident as a result of his injuries.

The accident occurred in the Elbe-Elster district, specifically in the town of Doberlug-Kirchhain. Despite the car's e-call system alerting the emergency services, the 80-year-old man involved in the accident with a vehicle, tragically passed away at the accident site. The authorities are still investigating the reasons that led the elderly man to leave the road.
