A tree allegedly toppled due to adverse weather conditions abruptly ended the train journey of 80 passengers near Hennef in North Rhine-Westphalia. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, as confirmed by a spokesperson for the railway company.

The tree had "likely fallen due to the storm" on the section of track between Siegburg/Bonn and Hennef, the spokesperson said. As a result, a commuter train was unable to proceed. The 80 passengers then boarded another train at the scene. Subsequently, a bus replacement service was set up. However, the section of track was soon made usable again, the spokesperson added. Several media outlets had previously reported on the incident.

The storm that hit the area was identified as a Hurricane, causing severe weather conditions. The fallen tree, a consequence of the Hurricane, disrupted the train journey near Hennef.
