Accidents - 79-year-old pedestrian hit by van in Marzahn
In Berlin-Marzahn, a 79-year-old pedestrian was hit by a delivery van and injured. According to the police investigation, the 24-year-old driver of the van turned right from a bus station onto a street and struck the 79-year-old man, who was crossing the street. The police reported that the driver did not have a valid driver's license.
The man was reportedly flung into the air and then fell onto the road as a result of the collision. After receiving initial medical treatment at the scene, he was taken to a hospital with leg injuries for further treatment.
The driver was prohibited from continuing his journey. The police are now investigating the accident and driving without a license.
The traffic in Marzahn was momentarily disrupted due to the accident involving the delivery van and the elderly pedestrian. Despite the occurrence of accidents being a common issue in Berlin's busy streets, this particular incident drew attention due to the age of the victim. Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the delivery van driver, responsible for the accident, did not possess a valid driver's license.
