79-year-old dies in hospital weeks after traffic accident
A 79-year-old woman has died several weeks after a traffic accident in the district of Neu-Ulm. The woman succumbed to her injuries in hospital on Wednesday, the police announced on Thursday.
The accident had already occurred in Bellenberg in mid-October. A 47-year-old driver of a minibus reportedly failed to keep the prescribed distance from the 79-year-old pedelec rider. The 79-year-old swung her bike slightly to the left and touched the exterior mirror of the minibus. As a result, the woman fell off her bike and suffered serious injuries, according to the police.
The tragic incident occurred in the Bellenberg area, which is located within Swabia. Despite receiving medical attention in a hospital following the accident, the 79-year-old woman passed away several weeks later.
