Colorful - 73-year-old woman forgotten in highway parking lot at night

A 73-year-old woman was forgotten at a rest area on the Autobahn 96 near Wiedergeltingen (Unterallgäu district) on Sunday night. According to the police, the 73-year-old woman, her 67-year-old brother and his wife had taken a break in the parking lot on their way from Bosnia to Switzerland. The woman went to the toilet and when she came back, the car was gone. A man called the police because of a "distraught elderly lady without a jacket".

The brother had reportedly not noticed that his sister had left the vehicle. It was only shortly before Zurich that the couple noticed that the 73-year-old was no longer in the car. The brother immediately drove back. The siblings were reunited at the police station around four hours later and continued their journey.
