- 73-year-old man drives into ditch and dies
A senior citizen drove his car into a ditch near Meerane (Zwickau district) and was fatally injured. The 72-year-old passenger of the 73-year-old man had exited the vehicle briefly on Friday, according to police. The car then suddenly veered into the opposite ditch, spun around, and came to a stop. The driver died at the scene. The road was closed for three hours.
The 72-year-old passenger called the police for assistance after exiting the vehicle. A police squad arrived at the scene to manage the situation and traffic.
