71-year-old is run over by tractor and dies
A 71-year-old farmer was run over by his tractor while working with wood in Upper Bavaria and died at the scene of the accident. The man was working alone on his farm in Weßling (Starnberg district) on Wednesday, splitting wood with a device attached to a tractor, as the police reported on Thursday. According to initial investigations, the vehicle unexpectedly started moving and ran over the farmer.
The 71-year-old was trapped under a rear tire and died. Rescue workers rescued the man. The police began an investigation. There were initially no indications that third parties were at fault.
The tragic accident in Upper Bavaria raised concerns within the local agricultural community. Despite takeing necessary precautions, accidents like these can still occur in the field of agriculture.
