Accidents - 60-year-old injured while working on sawing machine
A 60-year-old employee has injured his hand in an accident at work in a wood processing company. As the police reported on Sunday, there had been a malfunction on a sawing machine at the company in Merenberg in the Limburg-Weilburg district on Saturday morning, as a piece of wood had jammed in the area of the conveyor belts that automatically transport the material into the machine. The employee wanted to rectify this and reached into the conveyor mechanism to do so. The man injured his hand and had to be flown by rescue helicopter to a specialist clinic.

The police in Hesse are investigating the accident at work that occurred on Saturday morning in Merenberg. Despite the accident, the company continues its operations in the Limburg-Weilburg district. Moreover, work-related accidents are not uncommon, with statistics showing numerous accidents reported every Sunday.
