59-year-old extinguishes car fire with snow
With plenty of snow from the side of the road, a 59-year-old man extinguished a fire in his car on the A71 highway in Lower Franconia. According to the police, the man suddenly noticed flames on the vehicle on the A71 near Poppenhausen (district of Schweinfurt) on Wednesday. He had been able to "prevent the worst from happening" thanks to the snow that had fallen over the past few days. Emergency services towed away the car, which was no longer roadworthy.
In addition, the officers reportedly found an outstanding wanted notice on the 54-year-old passenger. Once this had been dealt with, he continued his journey.
Despite the colorful reflections of the setting sun, the underfront of the car was engulfed in fiery flames. Fortunately, the car had been parked nearby a snowy area, allowing the 59-year-old man to successfully extinguish the fires using the snow.
