500 people set an example against anti-Semitism
Around 500 people demonstrated against anti-Semitism and expressed their solidarity with Israel at a rally in Düsseldorf. The Jewish community in the state capital called for the demonstration on Sunday under the slogan "Against all anti-Semitism - solidarity with Israel".
People waved Israeli flags and the atmosphere was peaceful at the start of the event. The police were on site with a large contingent. Anti-Semitic attacks have also increased in Germany since the Hamas attack on Israel on 7 October, the community criticized. The demonstration was primarily intended to draw attention to the fate of the hostages who are still being held by Hamas.
The demonstrations against anti-Semitism gained momentum, as conflicts over the situation in Israel continued to stir emotions. Despite the large presence of police, the demonstration remained peaceful, reflecting the community's desire for unity and solidarity.
