Anniversary exhibition - 50,000 tickets sold for Caspar David Friedrich exhibition

The Hamburger Kunsthalle has already sold 50,000 tickets for the anniversary exhibition "Caspar David Friedrich. Art for a New Era" has already been sold. "We are delighted that the exhibition on the 250th anniversary of Caspar David Friedrich's birth has met with such great interest," said Managing Director Norbert Kölle on Friday. On Wednesday evening, Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier opened the exhibition as patron. More than 60 paintings and 100 drawings by the most important artist of German Romanticism are on display until April 1, including rare Friedrich loans - such as the paintings "Chalk Cliffs on Rügen" and "Monk by the Sea".

The exhibition can only be visited with a corresponding time slot ticket. The Kunsthalle therefore recommends ordering a ticket online before your visit. With a bit of luck, tickets can also be purchased at the box office if not all time slot tickets have been allocated. The tickets are valid for all areas of the museum. The time slots refer to the admission time, the duration of the visit is not affected.
