DEL - 5:3 in Iserlohn: Eisbären Berlin continue their winning streak
The Eisbären Berlin have celebrated their fifth win in a row in the German Ice Hockey League(DEL) and remain top of the table. On Friday evening, the team from the capital won 5:3 (0:1, 2:2, 3:0) at the league bottom team Iserlohn Roosters after trailing 2:0. Morgan Ellis scored two goals, Jaedon Descheneau, Zach Boychuk and Ty Ronning also scored for the Berliners, who thus won their tenth away game in a row.
In front of 4134 spectators at the Eissporthalle am Seilersee, the home side were the more committed and determined team at the start. Balázs Sebök gave the bottom-of-the-table team a deserved lead with a power-play goal shortly before the first period break. After the restart, the home side increased the pressure, but the Sauerland team extended its lead. Sebök scored for the second time after a counter-attack.
The Berliners equalized with goals from Descheneau in overtime and Boychuk, but Hunter Shinkaruk scored the hosts' third goal straight away. In the final period, however, the league leaders were able to turn the game in their favor thanks to a significant improvement in performance. First Ronning scored, then Ellis secured the win with two goals.
