450 kilos of drugs smuggled: Up to eight and a half years in prison
The trial for the import of a total of around 450 kilograms of marijuana has come to an end at Frankfurt Regional Court with sentences of up to eight and a half years in prison. A 32-year-old man received the maximum sentence, while a defendant of the same age was sentenced to six years and two months in prison. A 40-year-old man who had made his apartment available was given a two-year suspended sentence. The sentence is final, as the court confirmed on Friday.
The drugs were transported from Spain to Germany in three lorries between March and June 2021. The police were aware of the offences and had access to the defendants' chat traffic. However, the drugs, which the court and the public prosecutor's office calculated to be worth more than 1.5 million euros, remained missing. The defendants confessed in court. The main defendant was also placed in a drug rehab center.
The court's rulings in this case involved various processes, including the trial and sentencing of individuals involved in the smuggling of 450 kilos of drugs. Nevertheless, despite confessions and evidence, the missing drugs led to an unresolved aspect of the crime.
