Ulm - 44-year-old allegedly beat neighbor to death: Indictment filed

The public prosecutor's office in Ulm has brought charges against a 44-year-old man for manslaughter. The man is said to have repeatedly punched and severely kicked his neighbor in an allotment garden, as a result of which the 45-year-old died, the authorities announced on Wednesday. The two men are said to have been drinking alcohol together beforehand. Then it came to an argument, it said.

One day after the crime at the beginning of September, the suspect reported in person to the prison guard in Ulm. According to the public prosecutor's office, the man confessed. The authorities assume that he at least accepted the fatal consequences of his violent actions.

Among other things, the main hearing will examine whether the man's culpability was impaired by his alcohol consumption at the time of the crime. According to the public prosecutor's office, a psychiatric report has been commissioned for this purpose.
