Processes - 43-year-old man on trial for murder of roommate
A 43-year-old man has been on trial for murder and grievous bodily harm at Osnabrück District Court since Monday. The public prosecutor's office accuses the man of putting a heavily intoxicated roommate into a bathtub full of water in May in a shelter in Nordhorn, in which the victim is said to have drowned. The two men are said to have drunk alcohol together beforehand. Afterwards, the accused is said to have punched the other several times. The victim is said to have suffered injuries in the process. According to the public prosecutor's office, he is said to have intended to murder the victim in order to cover up his actions.
Back in March, the accused allegedly stabbed another roommate in the hand with a knife for no reason. The court has scheduled a total of eight trial dates until January 19, 2024.
